This is Lovie (and my latest junk store treasures...not the glass...I had to sit it there to lure Lovie into the photo...because she has a Thang for Ice Cubes...it is really unnerving how that cat from the far side of the house can hear an ice cube chink into a glass)a couple of years ago, DS dragged Lovie home from a store where he worked...the storefront sat on a Very Busy Street and I guess DS figured Not So Smart Kitty (bless her heart) would just wander into traffic one day...Lovie is sweet...a little slow...but sweet :) (hey...better Sweet & Slow than Mean & Brilliant...unless you're my surgeon...)Lovie does have one problem...She is the grubbiest cat I have ever met in my life...I'm serious...yesterday morning, I rolled her over to see if her underside was a grubby as the topside...My Word...grey...her tummy was grey...Lovie's underbelly fur is, theoretically, white, but it was as grey as the ash from our fireplace...Oh my word...smackin' my own forehead...that is where she gets The Grubbies! Lovie has been hangin' out in the fireplace*...Miss Lovie got a bath last night...
*hey...I didn't say Lovie was the only one who is sweet & slow around these parts...although not really that sweet :)
it's all about the journey...

Hiya, Miss Cathy :)
That, I think, is an individual Butter Dish (it has a little rimmed section under the dome & you probably can't tell, but that is a little cow head up on top)...it isn't old, but it was too cute...I may just sit a votive in there since now we've let the butler go there aren't many times we sit at the 80 foot long dining table in the Great Hall so we can just pass the Smart Balance tub back & forth at the kitchen counter bar...
:)
Jamie, it is funny how some cats & dogs just are not meant to co-habitate together :) ...When Mikey came to live with us...and Wilma & Fred the Bassets...it seemed like "We Don't Eat the Kitty!!! Love the Kitty" was all I said most of every day...and they just looked at me like "Silly Human...of course we eat the kitties...what else are they good for?"...it has been a long road...
Individual butter dish...I like it! You're too funny!
Mrs.G,
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Your cat is so cute. I just read in the paper that today June 1, is hug your cat day.

Lovie is a sweetie! Our late Simon was a not-so-bright but sweet kitty too...I miss him. That is funny how she likes ice. :) Simon had a thing for popcorn, and ritz crackers.
I love your treasures, too. I have a tray (no feet) exactly like that one. We use it for sliced turkey, etc, at the holidays.
Hi Mrs.G, little lovie is too cute...must've been a site to see her taking a bath!
I love your Lovie story!;-)

I enjoyed the Lovie story as we have a 'not so neat' kitty also.
Miss Lovie looks like a sweetie...ice cube fetish and all! Thanks Mrs. G, for stopping over at my blog and wishing my son a Happy Birthday. He was thrilled to see all the birthday wishes that were posted.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Mrs. G, Just Patience with the Orchids. They are Really Not as Fragile as they seem. They are just stubborn! You can do it. I have books too, but in my opinion just jump in and try it. Have a Great Weekend. Jamie
Hi Mrs. G. Thanks for visiting my blog. Lovie is a cutie! I have given a cat a bath exactly once - what an experience! I hope Lovie was better behaved than my childhood cat.
Hi Mrs G! I loved hearing about your cat, especially the ice-cube fetish!!
