rather than continuing to get up every Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday morning to fruitlessly rifle through my closets trying to find something that not only makes me look 10 pounds slimmer, vivacious and hip but isn't so wrinkled that it looks like, well, my 44-year-old elbows finally got so irritating that I have made myself commit to ironing twice a month...
that's right...I finally decided the Ironing Fairy must hang out somewhere far cooler than #17...because never once did I look in the closet on Tuesday after a fruitless search on Monday to find all my stuff neatly pressed, looking like an ad for California Closets*...loser fairy...
and I finally decided that even tho' "it is linen and linen wrinkles" will fool people for a time, after a while, people realize you're just a lazy slob who hates to iron...
do ya'll know how long it takes to iron 2 weeks worth of clothing? far too long...I stopped keeping track after 2 hours...hours of my life that I'll never get back...and now about half of my ironed stuff is all wrinkled up again after washing, waiting to be ironed again this coming weekend...
Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap...crap...
I did ask Mr G if he had anything that he wanted ironed while I was at it..because Christmas isn't all that far off...because you do get points for just for asking...
of course, my inner voice was screaming "OH LORD IN HEAVEN PLEASE SAY NO"...

I tired that once. The ironing ahead thing... I had good intentions...that lasted about a week. I found that it was easier for me to just decide the night before what I wanted to wear and iron it then. Or, I'll iron it the morning of. For some reason I just can't keep it together enough to try to iron a weeks (or two!) load of laundry.
Hey, it's good to see you blogging again! Ironing..., my poor husband irons his own every morning. I fix breakfast and HE irons his clothes. i iron on an as needed basis. But every SO often, I do get a hankering to iron and get a catch up on the ironing.

Love your post! I too, select my wardrobe by what is the least wrinkled. Liked the little aside about California Closets too! Some of those closets are bigger than my entire bedroom!
Well, one of our frugal steps this year is that I have started ironing DH's work shirts. I can only bear to do two weeks at a time as it is tedious! LOL
Well, hi there! I didn't know YOU had a blog. :) If you see the Ironing Fairy, please send her to #309. ;)
LOL! I'm not good about ironing except I like to iron my tablecloths and napkins! My husband actually is the ironer in the family (he also likes doing the laundry)!
